The vision is excellent. The red blood really stands out against the flesh-colored hands and green grass.
This isn't the most original deviation, but there's only so many ideas out there. It's quite hard to get an amazingly original idea.
The technique is wonderful. The background (the grass) makes me think that the couple is protecting each other from the wild or something along those lines. The grass smeared over the blood adds to the "struggling" effect. Although, the blood itself looks rather flat against the skin. Maybe you could of created an effect of open wounds?
The impact is amazing. It really sends a strong message out there, and leaves you just staring at it, taking in every detail.
Overall, it's a really great image :3
