I have a heart, a flower a star cutout...I made them out of carton and laminated them so they last longer. They hold just great on the lens hood . No need to extra taping them

They work only on the zoom lens. The kit lens doesn't have enough dof. It takes a bit of practice to get the shapes sharp.

Absolute AWESOMENESS!!!

I have a macro lens... I'll give it a shot with that! Otherwise, Black Beauty will have to do her thing... I doubt that my Great White will cut it... but it's background blur is way better... I guess I'll just have to play until I get it right! Do you take a photo of the background then layer the person over it? How do you avoid getting the hearts / letters all over your subject?

nah I get it all in one photo. Don't have a macro lens, I bet this would work good with it too. It's like magic - switch to manual focus and turn the fine focusing wheel until you see the shapes appearing. Than turn until you got them well defined and voila. [link] or [link] see what I got. And don't forget to show me your funky results. In the first case I had christmas lights for the bokeh, and for the second one a holographic foil. from where all the colors.
